Administrators can use the Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist System Center Configuration Manager 2012 (MCTSSCCM 2012) certification to manage the deployment, security, and management of devices and applications in an enterprise. The MCTS SCCM 2012 certification is closely related to the Microsoft MCSA: Windows Server 2012 R2 certificate.

Start trainingThe Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist – System Center Configuration Manager 2012 (MCTSSCCM 2012) certification is designed for learners to demonstrate their ability to manage client computers and devices in businesses. The MCTS SCCM 2012 certification consists of one exam that is covered by SPOTO Training:

Technically, there is no prerequisite for the MCTS SCCM 2012 certification, but the exam assumes foundational knowledge in many areas. The typical experience required to obtain this certification is 1-3 years. This includes working with SCCM 2012, Windows Server 2012 or Server 2016 as well as security and networking in an enterprise environment. The ideal prerequisite for this certification is a basic understanding of Microsoft SQL Server, PowerShell and mobile device management. Active Directory is also essential.
Microsoft has stopped developing new MCTS certifications. However, it is still relevant and useful for all organizations that use the technology.
Exam DetailsLearners may have the option to take the MCTS SCCM 2012 exam remotely via an online proctored exam (OP). Learn more on Microsoft’s Learning OP website.
Exam time: 2 hours (120 mins)Passing score: 700Question types; multiple choice/single answer; scenario. Registration: Microsoft Learning or Pearson Vue. Exam cost: $165 (USD). Skills measured: Administering System Center 2012 Configuration Manager (free resource). *Microsoft doesn’t publish exact numbers associated with its exams. The number of questions that a learner will see depends on the case. **Because the questions are varied, it is not necessary that learners earn a simple 70% to pass the exam.
Microsoft exams are known for being difficult. Many learners find that they need to take multiple exams to be successful. Microsoft recognizes the difficulty of their exams and offers an Exam Replay that allows learners to retake the exam at a fraction of the price. The Exam Replay may not be available all the time. Exam Replay is an option on all exams that are part of the MCSA: Windows Server 2016 certification. However, this may change at any time. Exam Replay availability should be checked by learners to ensure they don’t miss out on this opportunity.
RecertificationThe MCTS certification is a lifetime certificate that does not require recertification.
